Most ADSL providers simply run the ADSL circuit over your existing telephone line and then supply filters that must be placed between all telco devices (answering machine, telephones, cord-less telephones) and the telephone jack. A WWISP technician will actually visit your location and install a splitter to remove the ADSL circuit for your incoming telco line and run a dedicated line to your modem or splitter.
Because we want your ADSL to work at all times! Other telco devices, such as the ones mentioned above, can and generally will cause your modem or router to lose the ADSL signal from time to time. The result is that you have to re-set the modem / router, re-boot the computer(s). This is not only irritating but takes time which costs money, a lot of money if it happens often.
We also provide technical support which is available to you immediately. There will never be a 45 minute wait, listening to "elevator" music waiting for a technician that may not be qualified to assist you. |
